FAQ
Questions, answered.
How Token Balls, drops, prizes, GPS claims, and wallets work — in plain terms.
The basics
What is PokeSlabs?
PokeSlabs is a map game: reward balls are placed at real-world, publicly accessible spots and you walk to them to claim them with your phone.
Some balls hold a real graded trading card (a “slab”) delivered through Collector Crypt. Most balls are standard balls that do not hold a prize.
Does it cost anything to play?
Browsing the map and claiming a Token Ball does not require a purchase. Actions you choose to sign yourself — such as launching a token — show their cost in your wallet before you approve.
What do I need to play?
A phone with location services, a modern browser, and a Solana wallet (for example Phantom) to sign in and receive prizes.
Token Balls & Token Drops
What are Token Balls?
Token Balls are map balls funded by a specific token's creator-fee reward pool. Each one shows the token's ticker (for example $TICKER) so you can see which community funded it.
How do Token Drops work?
When a token's reward pool has enough to fund a full drop, PokeSlabs places 25 Token Balls for that token close together around a nearby public area.
You can collect as many different balls from a drop as you can find. Each ball can be claimed only once, by the first valid claim.
Individual trades never create a ball on their own. Value accumulates until a full drop is funded, and drop timing is not guaranteed.
What does “24 standard + 1 prize” mean?
Every Token Drop has 25 balls: 24 standard balls and 1 prize ball holding a real Collector Crypt slab.
A standard ball shows “Try again — no slab in this one.” The prize ball delivers the slab to the winner's wallet.
What is the difference between a Standard Ball and a Prize Ball?
Only what is inside. On the map, every ball in a drop looks exactly the same — same art, same label, same ticker. You find out which kind you claimed only after the claim is confirmed.
Why do Token Balls show a ticker or logo?
The ticker and, when the token has one, its public image are taken from the token's own launch metadata. If a token has no image, the normal Token Ball art is shown. PokeSlabs does not create logos for tokens.
Every ball in the same drop shows the same ticker and logo, so the prize ball cannot be picked out.
Ball types
Which ball types are live?
Token Balls are in Beta. Sponsor Balls, Gold Balls, and Slab Balls are Coming Soon and are shown with that label wherever they appear.
What is a Sponsor Ball?
A ball prepaid by a sponsor before it appears on the map. Finding one will not require the finder to buy the pack. Sponsor branding is advertising by that sponsor. (Coming Soon.)
What is a Gold Ball?
A higher-tier ball type planned for a later release. (Coming Soon.)
What is a Slab Ball?
A ball that shows a live Collector Crypt pack price when you reach it. Nothing is bought unless you choose to pay and the server verifies the payment. (Coming Soon.)
GPS, location & placement
How close do I need to be?
You need to be within about 40 meters of a ball to claim it. The map shows when you are approaching and when you are in range.
Browser location is an estimate. The server makes the final decision on whether you are close enough.
Do balls expire?
Yes. Every drop has an expiry time, and unclaimed balls disappear from the map when it passes.
Where are balls placed?
Drops are placed around your area, only in publicly accessible places such as parks and open public areas — never centred on a private home or address. Balls are spaced apart within the drop area so they are not stacked on one spot.
Do not enter private property, restricted areas, or roads to reach a ball. Always follow local rules and park hours.
What are exclusion zones?
Areas where balls are never placed. Placement checks every ball against the active exclusion zones before a drop goes live.
What happens to my location data?
Your precise position is used to show nearby balls and is sent to the server only when it needs to check your distance for a claim.
To decide where future balls are useful, PokeSlabs may record a coarse neighborhood-level area (roughly 5 km) keyed by a one-way hash — never your exact position or your wallet address. Your location is never shown to other players.
The map says my location is unavailable or inaccurate. What can I do?
Allow location access for your browser in your phone settings, turn on precise location, and reload the page.
Step outside or away from tall buildings, wait a few seconds for the accuracy to settle, and avoid VPNs or location-spoofing apps — they can cause claims to be refused.
Token launches & the reward economy
How do token launches work?
From the Launch page you enter a name, symbol, and image, and sign the launch with your own wallet. The token is created on Pump.fun. PokeSlabs never holds your private key.
How does PokeSlabs use Pump.fun?
Tokens are launched through Pump.fun's public on-chain program, and PokeSlabs tracks the supported creator fees those tokens generate. PokeSlabs is not affiliated with or endorsed by Pump.fun.
What is the 80% / 20% split?
80% of a token's supported creator fees goes to that token's reward pool, which funds its Token Drops. 20% is PokeSlabs revenue.
How do creator fees fund rewards?
Trading a token generates creator fees. PokeSlabs collects the supported fees, applies the split, and adds the reward share to that token's pool. When the pool can fund a full drop, a Token Drop is prepared.
Fee volume depends entirely on trading activity, so there is no schedule or guarantee for when — or whether — a drop is funded.
Is each token's reward pool kept separate?
Yes. Rewards are accounted per token. One token's fees only fund that token's drops; they are never used to fund another token's balls.
Do I pay Solana network fees?
Signing in with your wallet is a free message signature. Transactions you sign yourself, such as launching a token, include a small Solana network fee that your wallet shows before you approve. Prize deliveries are sent by PokeSlabs.
Collector Crypt, cards & prizes
What is Collector Crypt?
Collector Crypt is an independent service that tokenizes real graded trading cards held in its vault. PokeSlabs uses Collector Crypt's public services to source and deliver prize slabs. PokeSlabs is not affiliated with Collector Crypt.
Are the cards real?
Prize slabs are real graded cards represented through Collector Crypt. The card image, grade, and certificate number you see after a win come from Collector Crypt's data.
Before your first win, PokeSlabs shows a clearly labelled example or a neutral placeholder — never an invented card presented as yours.
Are packs a guaranteed profit?
No. Pack contents vary. A pack is not a guaranteed profit, payout, or insured value.
What happens when I claim the prize ball?
The server confirms your claim, then the prize slab is sent to the wallet you are signed in with. It appears in your Collection with the card image, grade, and cert from Collector Crypt.
How is the prize delivered?
Delivery happens on Solana to your connected wallet through Collector Crypt. Anything about vaulting or redeeming the physical card is governed by Collector Crypt's own terms.
It says “Delivery is paused” or pending. Did I lose my prize?
Prize secured — it's reserved for your wallet. Delivery is paused right now; come back to this ball later and it will be sent once delivery resumes. Nothing is lost.
Delivery may be paused for safety checks or maintenance. Your claim is recorded against your wallet in the meantime.
Proof, fairness & backing
How can I verify what happened?
Claims and deliveries have proof pages that show the on-chain transaction signatures and provider references, so you can check them on a Solana explorer.
Is the prize actually there before a drop goes live?
Yes. Before a Token Drop is placed, PokeSlabs checks that the prize for that drop is already held in its reward treasury. If the check fails, the drop is not placed.
Can anyone tell which ball is the prize?
No. The prize is assigned before placement and kept hidden. The map, labels, art, and public data are identical for every ball in a drop, and the result is revealed only after a claim is confirmed.
Wallet & troubleshooting
How do I connect my wallet?
Tap Connect and choose your Solana wallet. On mobile, PokeSlabs can open your wallet app and bring you back. You sign a message to prove you control the address — PokeSlabs never asks for a private key or seed phrase.
A ball disappeared before I reached it. Why?
Most often someone else claimed it first — shared balls go to the first valid claim. A ball also disappears when its drop expires.
My claim was refused even though I was standing on it.
Wait for your GPS accuracy to improve and try again. If the ball was already claimed or expired, the server will say so.
My wallet app didn't return me to PokeSlabs.
Switch back to your browser manually. Pending sign-ins and actions are kept for a short time, so you can usually continue where you left off. If not, start the action again.
Something looks wrong. What should I do?
Take a screenshot of the ball or proof page — it includes the reference IDs needed to look into it. Never share your seed phrase or private key with anyone, including people claiming to be support.
$SLABS & disclaimers
What is $SLABS?
$SLABS is a planned PokeSlabs community token. It has not launched. Nothing on PokeSlabs is an offer of $SLABS, and no token on PokeSlabs — including $SLABS — comes with any promise of value, price, or returns.
Will a token go up in value if it gets Token Drops?
PokeSlabs makes no claims about any token's price or value. Token Drops are a game reward funded by creator fees, not an investment feature.
Is PokeSlabs affiliated with Pokémon, Nintendo, Collector Crypt, or Pump.fun?
No. PokeSlabs is an independent project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Nintendo, Creatures, GAME FREAK, The Pokémon Company, Collector Crypt, or Pump.fun. PokeSlabs uses Collector Crypt's and Pump.fun's public services.
Card names and images belong to their respective owners.
Is there an age requirement?
Yes. You confirm your age on your profile. That confirmation is a self-attestation, not a government identity check, and some rewards can be disabled by region.
